Real-World Education and a Resource Tool
Webster University is metro Denver's little-known secret for high-quality graduate education in business, management and technology. The Denver Graduate Center, which has been located in Aurora for more than 25 years, offers Master's degrees in specialized areas relevant to the real world.
Established in 1915 in St. Louis, Missouri, Webster University has 90 extended campuses worldwide. The University is a non-profit school accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and has been a member of the North central Association since 1925. For over a quarter of a century, Webster has been a leader in serving adult learners. Along with most other accredited universities and colleges in the metro area, Webster is a member of LEARN, the Local Education Adult Resource Network. LEARN's mission is to promote adult education programs along Colorado's Front Range. As a volunteer organization, LEARN accomplishes its objectives through a system of committees and individuals each representing a local college or university in the region. All member schools are regionally accredited.
LEARN assists employers with employee training, development, and retention by setting up education fairs free of charge. What better way to encourage employees toward professional development than to provide educational benefits and assist them with planning their education? LEARN will schedule an education fair at the employer's convenience, arrange for representation from the member schools and provide free consultation on publicizing and conducting the education fair. A free LEARN directory is available at www.learndenver.com.

Education Fairs: A Great Resource Tool
As Human Resources professionals, you are all well aware that employee retention is crucial to a successful workforce. What better way to encourage people to stay at your company than helping them further their education and assist with their educational planning? For those of you who work in companies that offer generous tuition assistance programs, your management has obviously bought into the theory that providing assistance for employees to further their education has benefited the company. What can you do to assist your employees with their career development?
LEARN, the Local Education Adult Resource Network, is here to help! LEARN's mission is to promote adult educational programs along Colorado's Front Range. LEARN accomplishes its objectives through a system of active committees and individuals each representing a local college or university in the region. All member schools are accredited by the NCA (the highest academic accreditation a school can receive). LEARN assists employers in disseminating educational materials to employees and provides expertise to working adults in identifying and selecting appropriate educational opportunities. Probably the greatest advantage of working with LEARN is that LEARN members are here to provide your company with a FREE, on-site education fair!
What exactly is an education fair? Typically, the schools you decide to invite to your fair will each set up an information table in some high-visibility area such as a cafeteria or large break-room. Most companies typically invite all of the LEARN member schools. The fair usually takes place over the lunch hour, from 11—1. LEARN members are flexible, however, to meet your companies particular needs in terms of times and locations. Each school will bring promotional materials from their school and a program specialist from each school is available to discuss and counsel all prospective students on the different options available. This allows your employees to do "one-stop" shopping so they can search all the programs available and find the one that best meets their needs.
The best part about this free event is that you can leave the planning and inviting of member schools up to your LEARN representative! LEARN will schedule an education fair at the employer's convenience, arrange for representation from the member schools, and provide free consultation on publicizing and conducting the education fair. All you will need to is the internal promoting of the event and LEARN will take care of the rest.
